Since 2018 the Maroon and Gold Foundation has been recognized by the Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development as an approved Education Improvement Organization (EIO). In conjunction with the Millersburg Area School District, the Maroon and Gold Foundation has provided financial support for several innovative educational programs that are not part of the District’s regular academic program. With the generous support of several local businesses, the M&G has contributed $59,600 over the past 4 years in support of these programs.
As of 7 November 2022, the Maroon and Gold Foundation’s 2022 EIO application for renewal was approved and the Foundation is eligible to receive 2022 EITC funding.
Status as an EIO allows the donations of eligible businesses tax credits equal to 75% of their contribution for the tax year in which the contribution is made. Details on the PA Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program can be found at
